| After the retreat from the lawns of the National Library at the end of January 2022 and the Police directions into northern Canberra, the Cookers advanced towards EPIC more quickly than anticipated. The Cookers faced several logistical issues:

The Cookers chose to defend EPIC with as few trucks as possible due to the favorable terrain (dry grassland and a rather thin road network) and limited local Canberran objectives in the area. They also had intelligence that the EPIC campground was cheap and legal to camp in. This would give them time to replenish their supply lines and establish a self-sustaining but not communist commune.

| Guru and Bosilini would use the morning and afternoon camp briefings to corral the impressionable Cooker crowd towards their insurrectionist agenda, and undermine Admiral Hood at every opportunity. While Admiral Hood advocated for a simpler message aimed at ending vaccine mandates and attracting more mainstream support, Guru and Bosilini went further, advocating for the camp to storm Parliament House. | This division in the camp was on full display display when on Tuesday, 8 February 2022, Admiral Hood and his motley crew entered Parliament while fully masked and completely abiding by COVID-19 health mandates, and allegedly 'entered into a contract with the Government', according to Bosi and Guru. The dynamic duo articulated this back to the camp as a great betrayal and openly called out Hood and his supporters as controlled opposition and 'undercovers'.
